Kahne Caught Up In Late-Race Crash at Homestead
The 2016 season wrapped up this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Kasey Kahne qualified the No. 5 Great Clips Chevrolet SS 29th after his second attempt in the first round was foiled by a caution due to a car spinning on the track. Even though Kahne worked his way forward throughout the race, he was caught up in an accident just 10 laps shy of scheduled 267-lap race. Kahne’s damaged No. 5 Great Clips Chevrolet was not able to return to the track and he was relegated to a 37th-place finish.

With 90 laps remaining, the Enumclaw, Washington, native slipped back to the top 20. The fifth caution of the race came out on Lap 253 and after Kahne visited pit road for service, he restarted in the 17th position. Unfortunately, just after the restart Kahne was involved in a multi-vehicle accident that ended his night prematurely in the No. 5 Great Clips Chevrolet SS.
